Default Installing a head/cam package on an LS1

I'm thinking about putting the MTI stage 2 head and cam package on a C5 and I'm not capable of installing something like this. So I'm wondering how much does an install like this cost if I bring all the parts to a speed shop? Thanks in advance

If you can ($) let someone do it that knows what they are doing. Contact a local reputable shop and get a price. Luckly here in NJ there are several options in that department, hell we even have several dealerships to work with also. Even the the simplest of jobs have things that come up that were unexpected that might take a person with experience to handle. If you decide to do it yourself, there are no better hands than being here at the Forum, the members here can get you through just about anything. Good luck!

Take a look at ls1howto.com. I did my cam swap and it wasn't all that bad. The directions on ls1howto are very detailed and will walk you through the entire process. Save the money you would have spent on installation and have your car dyno tuned.

I am checking on prices for an install now. I have done several cam/head installs over the years, but the C5s steering rack and PIA balancer is a little intimidating. The C5 is a nice car and I need to keep mine nice
I have received prices from a high of $1250, to a low of $495. As expected, I am negotiating with the 495 guy now.

If you do it yourself you will know it is right .
If you're letting someone else work on the car you better do your homework.
