The dealer informed me today my Z has 3 broken valvesprings. Do they have an inner and outer spring? What holds the valve up after that to avoid piston contact? My warranty is about to expire so I want to be sure things are done right.

If it is stock, the Z06 has a single spring. Green if it is a 2001 model and a yellow spring on 02+ LS6 models. If the spring breaks there is little significant force holding the keepers in place and at any given moment the keepers can slip out of the retainers and you can drop a valve. Which is quite ugly. Is you Z06 stock? Stock cam? And you broke a spring? WOW!
dang doug, joe told me about this, insane how 3 stock springs broke just like that!
I can see maybe 1 failing at a time or something but 3 of them is insane!
Hard for me to believe that 3 springs failed all at once without some thing else going on!
May have been a "forced" over rev, or going WOT stone cold, or ?
