On my way to Bristol last weekend, my gas guage 4 times quit and registered empty. The red light "check guages" came on and across the DIC was a message low fuel. I just filled up 100 miles before so I knew that I wasn't empty. I "rocked" the steering wheel and the needle on the gas guage came up to 3/4 full. Reset the DIC, dash light went out, car ran fine. Like I said, this happened 4 times over the weekend. Any clues on what is going on?????

Pretty common issue. Unfortunatly the search is not currently working on the forum. There are a lot of posts on this topic. Most people believe that it is the amount of sulpher in your brand of fuel. Another common cure is to run Chevron gas if available and treat your next couple of tanks with Chevron Techron fuel additive. I have always run Chevron. One time I had to use Shell and before that tank was used up I had it happen to me. I filled it back up with Chevron and never again has it happened. Pretty strange.

Funny you should mention Shell... That is what I filled up with, I usually use nothing but Amoco (BP) ultimate. Tried to do search, no luck these last few days with the forum being "screwed up" I'll try an additive and see what happens. Thanks...
Based on my experience with this, here is what I would do.
1.Switch gasolines. What you buy depends on the state you live in. Shell may be bad in Washington but is good in Michigan. Because it depends on which refinery(s) the local companies get there raw product from, check with other forum members in your area to see which brand has the best track record.
2.For the next two tanks of gas, add two bottles of Chevron Techron per fill-up (roughly one ounce Techron per gallon of gas).
3.Clear all DIC fault codes stored in your computer related to fuel sending units.
4.Good luck!!!...I've gone around the block with this problem and have it under control right now.
