I just bought my first Corvette 1998 Quick Silver, 35,068 miles for 21,500.00 tax title and registration. I had a hard time with the
salesman, so I went to talk the general manager and told him that I was in the Navy trying support my country and if he could cut me a special deal. Well too my surprise he was a retired Master Chief! What luck! The car was priced at 24,900.00 and he asked me how much I feel comfortable with spending, so I told him I want to spend 23,500.00 out the door, and he went back into his office and made a phone call and came back with the purchase order of $21,500.00 tax, title and registration. I was blown away. As he walked off he told if I make Chief Petty Officer this next cycle he would do something really special for me if I wanted to upgrade. I would have never imagined this ever happening to me. I guess I was lucky that day! I'm sure he still made money off and anxious mouth drooling Yeoman First Class, but I wanted it so bad. Couldn't afford the 99 and up, in virginia beach they are diificult to find.
But can someone please help me with some good bolt off mods to get a little more Zoom. I have been reading eveywhere and don't really understand the HP Tuner stuff. I not a tech so I don't think I could do that! I don't need alot, just do not want to lose to any SVT Cobra's. I hate those things! So if some one has the time to list some bolt on mods in recommended order of precedence, I would greatly appreciate it. Help a sailor out! I have listed my own, so please reorganize if you suggest somehting better.
The Master Chief was taking care of his own, Congrats on the new hotrod. The choices are great, you must of been doing some reading. The UD pulley will make you about 5 or 6 rwhp but this is a good mod to incorporate with adding a cam, the labor cost will be high for the gain. Before you start to mod your new ride think about how far you're going to take the car and build it accordingly. It's no fun to take off a mod because it won't give you the highest level of performance on your baby. Call a few shops for ideas, there are several great shops that help out on the forum. When I started to mod my ride I used this shop www.vincihighperformance.com they were great to work with and provided all the performance information complete with dyno numbers on each mod. Who ever you deal with ,remember all the dyno numbers on each mod isn't cumlitive and to find out your true rwhp you have to test them as a completed package. HAVE FUN, Gary.
