Default Exhaust Help?

I want to add an exhaust to my 2001, but I am new to all the mods out there. Any help on which exhaust would be good? Should I also get the x Pipes? Which exhaust gives the best sound at higher revs but is not extremely loud at low revs or Idle? This is more of a wife issue, some may understand. Thanks for any suggestions you have.

You need to listen to several cars, each exsuast has a different sound and you have to find the one that rings your bell. Find a local corvette club and attend a meeting, you most likly find all types, listen and choose. I have borla stinger with a X pipe and love them. Some dont... it a very subjective issue. Thats my .02 cents.

Default Thanks

Thanks to all, I will try the club and see. I am leaning towards the touring with the x Pipe, just needed a little validation.

Subjectivity ends here....

GHL. Period... Quite at low rpms, ROAR at WOT.

NO interior resonance, NO DRONE.. No putt putt motorboat sound...
Like whats been mentioned above....

Just a deep, throaty, agressive V8 sound.
You will LOVE them..

If you get another brand, TRUST ME, you'll end up with the GHL's......

You yourself have just described the kind of people who get GHL's, & what they want out of their exhaust..

TRUST ME..... GHL, simply the best sound & craftsmanship, bar none...
You'll see...

Please publicly thank me when you get them as many others have...

Get the Magnum Plus GHL, no resonance. I've got the regular Magnum (the exhaust system Borla copied to make their stingers) and it is pretty loud, but I've got long-tubes and hi-flows too; it is by no means obnoxious, but it is throaty and a bit louder than stock at idle, and SCREAMS at WOT... On stock manifolds, it shouldn't be too loud; FWIW, my mother doesn't find my exhaust too loud, and she does not like loud noise at all.

Even with an X-pipe, if yours is an MN6, it may have an off throttle burble and popping. I happen to like that, but others may not; my stock exhaust burbled just as much, it is just a bit louder now with the full exhaust done...

All I know is that the stock stereo can still overcome my exhaust at WOT with the windows down, but barely.

Of course, the absolute best advice has already been stated; hear them in and out of a car at a local meet. Ask for a ride at cruise to see if they resonate, etc.

I have Jet Hot LT headers, Random Technology X-pipe w/ hi-flow cats, and a Z06 Ti catback. For a car w/ headers, it is extremely quiet. I started it up w/ my wife standing right next to the car, & she never noticed any increse in sound. However, under acceleration it has a very mellow, Ferrari-like sound, and at WOT it sounds downright mean.

Can't recommend it highly enough.
