Has anyone installed the RT X-pipes? They have been around for a while and I am wondering if people are getting a lot of O2 error codes with these pipes.
I get PO420 and 430 codes about once a week on my '04 CE coupe. This is w/ Jet Hot headers, the RT x-pipe, and Z06 Ti catback.
I can't figure this out, there seems to be an occasional random problem with codes. It has been stated that older cars may just have O2 sensors that are not responding as well and need replacement, but not on an 04. I have been looking into headers with the RT pipe. Any luck in resolving this?
Nope, no codes, but then I gave the LG headers and 3" system with the Random Tech cats and sims in the rear 02 position! Passes in Calif! Just got back from having mine tested!
If you are having cat codes... (aka rear O2 Sensor Codes) just throw a set of O2 Simulators on and eliminate the rear O2's (like if you weren't running cats)... You dont need the rears. Also, you could use an LS1 Edit tune and turn them off.
Hitman99 are those the only codes you are getting with the headers??? I'm looking at a set of those Jet-Hots now for my car..

Yes, they are the only codes I am getting. I get the PO430 a bit more often than the PO420. I have seen at least one post suggesting that replacing the rear O2 sensors with ones for the front will help, as the fronts have a better heating element. ??? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I have also heard that replacing the rears with a non-OEM sensor might help --- again, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
One thought I had was to replace the fronts, as they might have a little oil on them. The car was burning over a full quart per 5K miles, but I have since added a catch can. My thought was that if the fronts had some oil residue on them, they might not register as much voltage, thereby making them read closer to what the rears read.
So far, I am just resetting the codes once a week. I have already had the car tuned w/ HP Tuners, and can get the codes deleted free of charge. However, I'm a little concerned that the OBDII emissions scan (down the road a few years) will be able to detect the deletion.

I'm looking at a set of those Jet-Hots now for my car. Did you install yourself? How do you like them (sound/power)? Get dyno results when you got your tune?
Thanks for any info

They were professionally installed at F-Body Central in Baltimore, but the install was very easy --- no jacking of the engine required, or any special measures.
I dynoed afterwards at 324 HP, 339 TQ, w/o the benefit of wide-band tuning, as the dyno shop's tailpipe sniffer was on the fritz. The engine is still running fairly lean, w/ some pinging at cruise under light acceleration. My guess is that I'm getting some knock retard above 4400 RPMs, which is keeping the HP number down. In my experience, HP and TQ numbers are usually around the same for LS1's w/ OEM cams.
I am very happy with the Jet Hots --- appearance, sound, and performance.
