Today when I was driving my 98 on the freeway, the trans made a clunk sound and the trans refused to shift . I noticed that I lost 3rd gear. My vehicle has about 80,000. I have bought a extended warrant from AUL and it says (TheTransmission) : The internal parts of the automatic transmission and torque converter. The automatic case is covered if damaged by failure of an internally lubricated part. Dose this mean this will cover all problems with my trans.
Sounds like it should be covered but just give your warranty company a call to make sure, take your car to a reputable tranny shop and have better clutch packs installed as well as better bands the stock parts from GM suck

Well the dealership telephoned me today telling me that the gears in the trans stripped out. They said they were going have to replace with a new tran after AUL sends someone out to inspect the old trans for some reason. Told me there will be no problem replacing the trans, will see.

The inspection is normal, I will need one from the DSP warranty people for my DD Maxima's transmission problem. They run tight ships, man.
