Torque tube upgrade?

I believe the auto TT is different, but I don't know what the diff is.
Here s what I do know.
My 2000 coupe A4 has part number 12561081
The later 200? A4 has part number 12564456
Visually identical, the diff is on the inside. But the shaft inside is supposed to be larger as stated elsewhere in this post.
I am upgrading for 2 reasons:
I will be drag racing with slicks
I found a complete later assembly for $175
