I adjusted the little "bumpers" on my FRC (same deck lid though). It made it pop up more, but a bit harder to close.

The original owner of my vert said to squirt some WD 40 down into the latch area from time to time. Was skeptical at first, but it seems to work.

Dale, thanks. Your WD-40 suggestion did the trick. My trunk only popped up enough to get my fingers under about 10% of the time. I even took it to the dealer and they said they fixed it. NOT! I sprayed a little WD-40 on the latch to night and now it works perfectly....several times.

This forum is the greatest. I learn more about my car here than any place else.

White Lithium grease would be better than WD40 by the way.

I found that this problem occurs due to the rubber weatherstripping. If you adjust the stops you are putting some load on the trunklid. Just put some silicone on the weatherstripping and it will pop right up again.
