Hey guys,
I've recently got the bug to fix those little things that bug me. Other than the AH issue I have already posted about, I would like to know if there is a way to make my dual zone climate control digital screen brighter. The screen is very dim and almost impossible to read during the day time. Does anyone else have this issue? Any known fixes?
I had this same problem. Eventualy mine became intermittant, and would display when it felt like it. Anyhow, I went to the dealership and bought a new control unit for 260. I was told on the forum a while back that was the only fix. Ops check good!!!
I have the issue too, just started a few weeks ago. I've got about 13K more on my extended warranty so I'll wait and add it to the list when I get all the little nagging items fixed. I understand some have fixed it by replacing the bulbs with Radio Shack lamps, which is what I will do if it happens after warranty expires.

you can change some of the bulbs , but the display cannot be repaired with a bulb.

If that doesn't work, you can purchase a used one from Gene's Kar Shop. Good luck

I've got the same problem and I got similar responses before...it can't be fixed, it must be replaced. I contacted Gene's Kar Shop and he has them for $175 I believe. If a new one is $260, that would be a better choice in my opinion. Since this is a common problem, buying a used one doesn't make much sense if the price delta is only $85. Good luck.
The fact that you folks are "fixing" these by taping / punching / beating on the display may indicate a simple refreshing of the contacts (cleaning / reseating) is in order. If you take it apart once, going straight for the component swap, how do you know it was the component vs. the act of disassembly / reassembly?
