Not an expert on this subject, but I think you need to use the MAF table for the larger diameter MAF if you get a stock Z06 MAF.
I think some vendors sell a recalibated Z06 MAF so you don't have to edit the PCM. It modifies the signal from the MAF to work with your existing MAF table. Without other mods, I doubt it will buy you much, if anything at all.
to reprogram the computer or anything? What gains will I get?
I wouldn't consider that upgrade till your up over 450 HP and are running a larger 90 mm TB which now makes your stock 75 mm MAF a restriction in the system. Even on a healthy 450-500 RWHP combination, the bigger MAF is only worth 3-5 HP. You would need to reprogram the computer using LS1 edit, modifying the MAF tables to account for the different sized units and they way they flow air thru them. And of course, a fair amount of chassis dyno time should be spent to insure the A/F ratios are where they should be. I don't know how radical your current combination is, but unless youve already hit every other bolt on, it's probably not a cost effective move, and might just create a bunch of headaches for little or no gains in power.
