Recieved the Check Engine light constantly for a day now. Read how to look up the codes, and found these:
10-PCM - Powertrain Control Module
P0171 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1
P0174 Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 2
Could this be caused by putting on a Halltek Stinger & Granetelli MAFS? i just put the MAFS on last friday, and got the light today. Seemed to idle a little more rough. If this is the case, whats a good way to fix this and keep the parts installed?? Thanks.
I put on the haltech stinger and never had a problem, I have noticed a lot of people have problems when they change the MAFS which is one reason I didnt change that. So maybe that will be your primary suspect and a fuel tune could remedy the problem. Good luck
maybe you have an air leak causing it to throw a lean code....never had an issue with teh blackwing..check your connections ..overtightening can be as bad as to loose
Granatelli MAFs are notorious for driving the system lean. Knock Retard, lean codes, etc. System can't compensate for it because the GMAF uses it's own sensor algorithm.
OTOH, it could be an air leak downstream of the MAF that's driving the system lean. The GMAF would certainly not be as forgiving as the stock MAF in that situation.
Check on the air leaks. If no obvious ones are found, change back to the stock MAF, clear the codes, and see what happens. If it fixes the problem, then hopefully whoever sold you that GMAF will refund your money.
