Halltech Stinger Install ?
Think it will help to drill air intake hole in the inside corner of fog light bezel?
Tools needed: 8mm Nutdriver; small screwdriver
Time to install: 25 minutes
1) Uninstall the stock airbox:
a) Take your small screwdriver and carefully pry out the gray security tab on the MAF sensor wire connector. Take off the connector.
b) Loosen the 8 mm hose clamp holding the accordion bellows to the throttle body.
c) Pry the airbox off the front bumper by hand (It is only held on by two rubber grommets).
d) Pull out the 1" rubber hose connector to the airbox, and save the plastic 90-degree elbow. Keep it attached to the hose end, but not the rubber grommet going into the box.
2) Loosen the hose clamps holding the MAF sensor in place and remove it carefully from the airbox.
3) Install the MAF in the F-Seal end of the Tunnel Bridge. Use Windex on the rubber to help insert it into the end. It must go all the way in. Tighten the hose clamp.
4) Install the black rubber transition hose on the throttle body end and put a hose clamp on to hold it in place.
5) Install the Tunnel Bridge into the trans hose. Install the second clamp.
6) Position the Tunnel Bridge so that it is at its lowest postition relative to the hood liner. It will barely touch the liner, but will not put pressure on the hood. (PLEASE NOTICE THAT THERE IS AN INDENTATION ON THE LINER FROM THE FACTORY. Our system does not make that indentation and will NOT cause the hood to rise)
7) Install the 90-degree elbox into the Warhead filter 5/8" hole.
8) Install the Warhead Filter on the Metal end of the MAF and tighten the hose clamp.
9) Reinstall the MAF wires and gray security tab.
Allow 25 miles of driving to provide relearn time for the PCM> All fuel trims will eventually retrim to 14.7:1 except WOT. That will be leaner, but still well within the power range and will likely provide 5 to 6% more torque and horsepower throughout the rev band.
Please understand that new air will not cause your car to run lean. The factory air fuel ratio is 12.3:1 for Wide Open Throttle, which is way too fat for max power. Our intake does not need programming to operate properly, but will see added benefits from a good LS1 Edit program.
