Default Torque spec needed!

I'm changing out my rear and torque converter and cannot find the torque spec for the allen head bolt that clamps the drive shaft in place at rear of the engine. It is picture 7&8 of this link
http://www.corvettefever.com/howto/18978/index.html

Thanks for the help,

Mike

Took some diggin' in the manual.

After you have the driveline together, you need to go through this alignment procedure. The clamp bolt should be finger-tight with pretty much everything else installed and torqued. Then:

Important
The following steps MUST be performed in order to provide proper alignment of the propeller shaft hub, the propeller input shaft and the propeller input shaft front bearing.

1) Start and run the engine at idle until normal operating temperatures are reached. (Idle or drive for at least 10 minutes.)

2) Turn off the engine and allow the powertrain to cool to ROOM temperature.

3) Raise the vehicle.

4) Tighten the propeller shaft hub clamp bolt (1 in the fig. below) to 125 N·m (93 lb ft).

5) Install the engine flywheel housing access plug.

6) Flush the transmission oil cooler. Refer to Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Flushing and Flow Test in Automatic Transmission - 4L60-E.

7) Lower the vehicle.

Thanks for the help! I'm a little concered as to leaving it finger tight and running the engine...The shaft spins, I would hate to have the bolt fly off!

With a little luck I'll be on the road with my new T/C and 3.42 tomorrow!

You need to leave it finger-tight so that as it turns, it finds it's own center and there is no windup or preload on the shaft when you do tighten it. I can send you the entire procedure via email if you PM me your email addy.

I trust that you are giving me the right info, it makes good sense. I just don't like the part not being tight and spinning around.

thanks again for the help,

Mike
