I would like to hear what others have to say about this code and what it takes to fix it rather than just turning it off...
Shirl
I also want to know how to tell the difference between the LS1 MAF and the LS6 MAF, where I can get another LS6 MAf and how much those are.
As far as intakes I had the halltech tric system and went with the blackwing due to surging problems. Now it has trouble holding a decent idle almost dieing when I hit the clutch. Of course that code.
Does anyone have the shop manual, is it in there? Anyone have access to a Mitchell System and could look it up? Thanks.
Problem solved. Turns out my MAF wiring was spliced and made longer when I modded the engine a few years ago. Well I bought the blackwing to elimate surging from my bottom feeder but when I installed it I must have pulled the MAF wires to hard because three of the five wires were broke. The scanner showed .19 lbs per minute and never moved. Well I was lucky and the guy who did the mod looked at the car and as soon as he saw that he knew to look. It was a tight fit but I had no idea the wires had been modified. So it would seem I broke the damn thing myself. He spent a hour doing it all up nice and neat and only asked for 40 bucks. Considering he went through the trouble of brining an extra LS6 MAF just in case I had no trouble with the amount.
Its odd, if I unplug the MAF the car ran even worse. But with the MAF it was getting no signal. Strange. I am just happy its fixed. Soon as I saw the broken wires I was like "YES!". With the blackwing and that fixed the car runs like a champ and I learned a lot about MAFs along the way.
