I haven't tried the simichrome, but tried Wenol and had decent results. I'm now using Maas, found at numerous retailers (bought mine at Home Depot) and it works well. The only solution to water drops is a dry towel

It's tough to argue with the results from the picture on the first page of this thread... if you moved away from wenol, then it wasnt that great... making aluminum look like chrome, is about the best you can get.. the picture is worth a thousand words...
Well tried the Simichrome out last night on my wheels and Mag, and it does work very well.....I'd gander ot say, at least as well as Mothers Billet, if not better. Nice consistency, and easy to apply, and as ET mentioned, leaves a nice protective coating....don't need to use much to get the job done. Looks like I will continue to try this stuff!

Where did you get it from. I use Mothers Billet with good results but would like to try it. Thanks.

I am under the impression the easiest place to get it is a motorcylce dealership. I went to a place called Cycle City, which sells Kawi's, Harley's, Aprilia's, etc....
Here is a quote I found that says there is a small amount of grit in it.
Any truth to this and would it be the reason it works so good? Would it be better to hit it with some Mothers after using the Semichrome?
Removing Light Scratches in Polished Aluminum: This requires a polish which has a small amount of grit or "cut" in it. For this we find Happich Simichrome Polish to be very good.

simi chrome has been around for 45 years that I know of... it contains jeweler's rouge, and the right amount of lubricants.. I doubt it would be good to put anything on simichrome after you use it.. it already contains a protectant.. it would be like putting dirty socks on after you wash your feet..
some one here posted that they tried wenol but then moved on to something else.
