Identifying a 01 or 02 LS6 motor?
I have a takeout LS6 from a 2002 C5R from GM. The owner
of the car insists the motor is a 01 385hp motor. Is there
an easy way to tell the difference between the 01 and 02 LS6??
(the motor is on a stand)

Unfortunately, it's virtually impossible to tell an '01 from an '02 just by looking at the outside unless you know how to trace the engine number stamped on the block. There were several internal changes such as piston, valve and spring revisions but you need to know what to look for.
