Default Question on A/C control set up

I know this will be a stupid question but i was looking thru the tech tips and i ran across a topic on installation of A/C temperature control unit....can someone give me a little more detail on this....i have a 98 C5 with the standard looking A/C control panel..you know..it has the twistie ***** for the fan speed and hot and cold air....it does not have any digital display or anything.....

here is my question....for what i saw in that tech tip...can the one in my car be changed out for the dual climate setup with the digital readout?....it would be pretty cool if i could but i'm sure it would be impossible to do...i'm sure the wiring and everything is different....can someone please let me know...thanks

Yup yer right. There's much more involved than just the control head. Look at it this way though. The manual units like yours have a lot less to go wrong on them.

The expense would get a little out of hand I'm afraid. Know what I mean Vern? Besides, I seen several posts from guys with auto AC having dimming display issues, etc.
