Ceramic coated headers will take more heat and send if out the back ofthe car. Other options are a bigger readiator and an oil cooler. Both will keep the engine a lot cooler

I have ceramic coated headers and an oil cooler. No big radiaotr yet.
My coolent temps almost never get above 200 and the oil never above 255.

My car spends most of its time on a road race ciructe so I am not gentle and the car spends more time above 3000 rmps then below.

Good advise. Also check out the results on the Meziere electric water pump at GM High-Tech Performance:

Granted... it was an F-body, but I think all LS1s should respond similarly.

Good question. We often get customers headers in that come "painted" and are horrible at preventing heat from radiating into the engine compartment.

We apply our thermal barrier coating, which has a very nice black satin look (kind of a reflective black color) and has been proven on our race car customers (SCCA, etc...) cars as well as street cars. When you get close to a decision please give shoot me an email, maybe we can help you out. Whatever you do, make sure what you get is coated. It's worth the extra $$.

Thanks and good luck

Bob
