Default Z06 exhaust question

Does the Z06 exhaust come off in one piece like the coupe or are the axle hoops seperate. I was just wondering if I would need to get the car really high to install the Z06 exhaust.

Thanks

One piece. Put it on a lift......if I remember correctly it needs around 40 inches of clearance.

You "cannot" replace this exahust without a lift. I know this from personal experience.

lift the front first, then lift the rear about 40". if you don't lift the front it will hit when you raise the rear that high.

i did it on jack stands as well. I think i had the bottom of the back bumper 35" off the ground. It required twisting the exhaust as well as rotating it to get it out in one piece. 40" will definitely make it easier.
Also, if you can lift the front a little it'll be a good idea. my car was not lowered at all, and by the time I had the back jacked up, the air dam was kissing the garage floor.

A useful hint to make the job easier: remove the rear sway bar first. It will make things a ton easier.

Default Z06 Exhaust

You can do it w/o a lift, you need to lift it so high until almost the front is rubbing on the ground; but it can be done, you also need to displace the sway bar then torque it to 44 ft-#

Default Z05 Exhaust Install

If you can get it up on a lift, it makes it infinitely easier. Also, you need to torque the sway bar as follows: 49 Ft pounds for the BOLTS and 70 Foot pounds for the NUTS.
