Default CAGS Question?

I had my car up in the air today and it appears to have the CAGS bypass kit installed. I just got the car yesterday and wondered if the light will still come on, but just not make me miss 2nd or will the light not come on at all. Thanks.

The light will still come on, even though the 1 to 4 shift won't be forced on you. There arr a set of conditions - rpm, temp, speed - that govern the CAGS action. Forum member Patches has the details - I don't have a copy on this computer.

You'll know your CAGS is working when you see the 1 to 4 light turn on and you can still shift from 1 to 2.

Don't ever take it off - it's annoying if you want full control of your shifts. By the way, if you ever get an LS1 edit by a tuner (not the dealer) the CAGS conditions can be adjusted so the light never comes on and the CAGS defeat isn't needed.

Enjoy your new Vette! Drive it every day - you deserve to enjoy your ride!

Thanks for the info. That is one item I was planning on buying that I won't have to now.
