Default Predator Question

Hey Guys (or Gals),

A quickie.
After I bought my '03 C-5 auto, I did a "Predator Tune" and after tweaking the shift speeds & pressure a little, I let it load & have been pretty happy.
This morning I was putzing around in the garage, and checked the settings (almost 2 years later) and noted that the gear/ differential ratio was set to 3.42 instead of the 3.15's I know to be there.
I don't know if that was a default that I didn't change or whether the voices in my head told me to program for 3.42's (I don't think so), nonetheless, I've reset it for the 3.15 ratio.
Question is...since it's raining in Nor Cal, and I only drive the car in rain at gunpoint, is / should there be a noticeable difference?
Maybe another 20 miles per gallon, or track e.t.s under 8 seconds?
Thanks for any input.

Just a bug in the code, my Predator does the same thing, but the code is correct for a 3.15 so my HPTuners shows. Good Luck, Jeff

It will make the speedodometer off a little. And question for you, did you have a track # increases with the predator. And dyno #s?

Thanks

no speedo error on the C5 with rear axle ratio changes... either real changes or not.

Why is that? How does the computer calculate speed? So if you changes tire sizes, the speedo will be correct? HOW

you tell us? You made the statement. Are you sure you were correct? The C5 is a unique beast. Yes; tire size changes will effect the speedo; but rear axle ratio changes won't.

You are guessing... or applying common sense to manufacture a fact. We are not guessing. Spend time to discover where the C5 VSS sensor is located... and it will become all too clear for you.

This "speedo error" is a touchy subject here; as we don't tollerate mis-information. And that one happens here too often.

email me if you really want to know the specifics.

My 04 Predator has the ability to change tire size and recal the PCM to take that into account. Not sure if earlier models do. Tire size changes speedo the gears will not by themself.
