Default C5 Automatic Tranny

The temp on DIC for the my trans registers 167 on the highway and sometimes goes up to 190 when I juice it a bit.
Is the 167 normal and should I worry about the 190

Looks normal. Normal cruising temps can vary based on outside temp. Up to 200 is in the normal range. Hard driving may get the tranny temps up to 230 in warmer weather. Anything higher, you start to slowly break down the tranny fluid.

Default Appreciate it Davette

Appreciate it. Thank you for the quick reply.
This is my 14th Vette, but at 60 I never had a newer one with all the bells and whistles and I always had a stick. I just couldn't turn this one down. I appreciate the assistance. Used to build em up from scratch, but I'm getting to long in the tooth. Again I thank you. Might change the filter, gasket, and fluid anyway as I was told it had 20 grand on it. I'd sleep better at night. Thanks again.

Benpup,

Enjoy your vette. I usually change my tranny fluid at about 20K intervals. However, I only put 5K a year on mine. More a time issue than a mileage thing for my fluids. Enjoy!

As already stated, normal and nothing to worry about.

Do yourself a big favor and install a tranny cooler, they are cheap insurance.
