99 C5 & Column Lock Bypass

Hey guys anyone have a 99 and experience any problems with a column lock bypass installed??? I am going to order one and heard that 97/98 C5s had issues with them....Just wondering if I can expect anything with my 99 regarding a potential issue????

So far, so good here. I installed one from Corvettes of Houston about 1,000 miles ago. Easy to install. My 99 is an M6. Plugged the adapter into the cigarette lighter, which unlocked the column, then hooked up the bypass under the steering column (don't know the technical name for what the bypass plugs in to). Directions were easy to follow.

i dont know if this was related but soon after i installed the clb my cruise control would not 'lock' on a speed. after 10 seconds it would dissengage as if i had pressed on the brakes. I didnt have time to look into it so i waited, a week later when i went to troubleshoot it was working perfectly. besides that no problems.

I have read of problems with the CLB and 97/98's, but not with 99's. You should be "good to go" on a 99.

I installed a CLB on my 98 and had "NO" problems at all!!!! It has been on there for 2 yrs!

I read form Thunder Racing, where I bought mine, that only 2% of the CLB's on 98/97's have issues. Have yet to do the install, ill let you know how it goes..
