Default Windshield Leak

My wife's 2000 FRC has a leak at the base of the windshield. The closure panel at the wipers has a long rubber seal that looks like it's about one inch short at each end. During the CA rains a few days ago, the passenger side leaked into the footwell (and almost got the PCM wet). The only 'damage' is wet floor mats and carpet. This is the first time I've notice the gap because it normally doesn't get to see the rain. We bought the car 3 years ago and it doesn't look the w/s has ever been taken out. Does anyone else have this gap?
Thanks!
Kevin

The PCM is mounted outside the passenger compartment so it's ok, you have to worry about the BCM which is mounted in the passenger footwell from getting wet.

My car has this same leak now that I have converted it to an FRC and I think I finally traced it down to the side window weatherstripping and I have a feeling yours is probably leaking in the same place, I used a hose and ran the water all along the edge of the windshield with nothing but as soon as I aim it at the passenger window I can see the floor mat start to darken.

My 04' leaked twice into the drivers side floor the second time i noticed the brake and clutch pedal were wet i looked at the base of the windshield were the hard plastic wiper trim is and saw a small gap so i figured that were the leak was starting, i sealed it with a little dab of black silicone and its been ok.(although it's been in the garage as of late) Try sealing it with that stuff.

I noticed the gap at the bottom of the windshield first. I'll look aroun the door area also. Either way I think I'll fill in the bottom gap.
Thanks!

You did a temp repair on a windshield seal on an 04?.......I've got an 04 and if I had anything close to the leak you had, it would go back for a new seal. The window and seal need to be installed correctly. If not, your going to have problems. That's what your warranty is for. If you have any more problems, call your dealer and let them know.

Did you have the A/C or defroster on too? If you did, your problem may be dirty udders. The udders are next to the firewall at the top on the drivers side. Squeeze all the crud out.
