Can I use a mirror, like one found in a trailblazer with the autodimming feature, map lights, compass, and on-star.
I want the auto dim, lights and the compass to work.
Can the mirror be wired to my 00 vette with the normal mirror, like the 01 and up vette autodimming mirror can be wired to the older vettes.

Yes, you can retrofit the newer mirrors. They are made by Gentex: http://www.gentex.com, and you can purchase the mirror from Mito: http://www.mitocorp.com/nvsmirro.htm.
Mito will be able to provide the information to wire the new mirror.

I want to install a GM mirror, from another gm car, not a gentex, not a donnolly, a GM mirror, I wnted to know if most of the wiring was the same.

I used a mirror from a 2004 Corvette that has the auto dimming feature but it dosen't have a compass.You will have to splice 4 wires and the splices comes with the connector.
