Default Header choices for CA

Hello brothers! I'm currently in the dilemma of picking a set of headers for my 00 C-5 but here's the problem..............I'm in CA.
Can any one from Cal or anywhere else give me some input on which set might be less problematic to pass our wonderful smog regulations.
I'm big on LG's and Kook's but I need some input from guys that currently have them on, I called a local shop and they suggested to go with Tri-flow shorties (a waste of Money if you ask me! and they're not cheap at $1250 bucks). anyhow...........any input will be greatly appreciated!

Which Tri-flo shorties? Also, I believe the Bassani Tri-Y's have a CARB pending, or at least applied for.

He was talking about the B&B tri-flow Stainless Steel. I'll check on the Tri-Y's. Thanks!

I just renewed my tags without smog, I know my number should be coming soon, that's why I having this dilemma. I know I could always install my stock system back but I not sure If is worth all that trouble. What are your options now that you failed smog?

If you're the DIY type, you could swap out your exhaust for the inspection, or if you've got the $$ and know the right person, you could pay someone to do. In the last 2 years, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that shorties were worth the trouble.

The other option is to beat the inspection. It's my understanding that you won't have any trouble passing the sniffer test if the car is hot enough, but you've got to find the right inspection guy that "thinks" LTs look just like the stock exhaust.

This isn't from personal experience, just what I've read over the last few years, good luck and enjoy the sun shine in the People's Republic of Kalifornia.

None of the headers have a CARB number on them so it makes no difference. They are all illegal in CA on the visual test. Some will pass sniffer test but if the guy opens the hood and looks, you are dead meat. Find someone in your area that doesn't fail them for the headers.
