My wifes 01 is keeps getting service traction sys, service abs, service active handling.Could this be a wheel sensor? I recently took all tires off to clean inside of rims could that have caused the problem?Any help would be great.
thanks

they show up when you first turn the key and stay on.Heres the code.It only has one current code 28-tcs c1214.I looked up the code and it says sol valve relay contact or coil ckt open.
Does it do this every time you start the car? My '02 did, and when I checked for codes it had a 1214, which is a
Solenoid Valve Relay Contact or Coil Circuit Open
The dealer replaced the Active Handling Control Module under warranty (thank goodness). I don't know if it could have been fixed less expensively (around $900 I think), since I didn't ask.
silverbullit, your last post hit just before mine

You may be able to see this without jacking up the car... then again if your car is lowered you may need to jack..... Look at the wheel bearing, it has two wires coming out of it to a plug in connector that continues into the body of the car... make sure those connections are plugged in correctly.
Patches, I am really dissapointed in you... Why havent you polished the control arms between the A-arms??? it sure makes a big diff when looking at the car from the side.. (trust me on this one)
I'll check it out.Great picture, you guys are good.I'll let you know I'm going to look right now.the car is lowered so I might not be able to see the plug.thanks

I know. I should have been polishing those instead of the stupid valve covers which you never see.
I just picked up my 01 today after leaving it overnight at the dealer for the same codes.it was the wires that needed to be cleaned and reconnected.bad contact.code for service abs/active handling came on a couple of nights ago.I don't have the work oreder in front of me,but it was nothing serious.oil change and fix's cost me 138 bucks.that would be wires connected to the computer.

Reason: info
I have a appointment at the dealer tomorrow.I'll have to just hope they are honest about whats wrong.I'll ask them to clean the connections first. When I had my 97 my fuel gauge went died and they wanted to drop the whole tank but a forum member said to put some valvoline fuel system cleaner in and use chevron gas .problem solved and saved hundreds.I was just hoping to fix it myself.I appreciate all the feed back .
thanks

i'm looking at the invoice for the codes they cleared at the dealership on my 01 and it says they found multiple codes(active handling/traction off, etc)for the brake light switch.it says they dropped lower panel and adjusted switch.cleared the codes and road tested and all is well.total cost for that was 56.25.good luck.jesse

A while back, I had "service TCS" and "service ABS" messages & asociated codes. The codes always related to the LF wheel, so I took a shot & disconnected & reconnected the harness going from the wheel sensor to a harness connector on the frame & the problem went away. I assume it was some minor corrosion on one of the connectors.
