The tuner I used is right over the RI line in Seekonk. He tunes cars from as far away as PA and is well known in the tuning arena. I can measure the amount the system hangs down, but unfortunately I tried to take photos from the side as before and after and they really don't show it very well because of the angle. The system doesn't hang down much though, and I don't think it is lower than stock. It is very tight up against the bell housing and there are no connection flanges as there are with the Dynatechs for example. Everything is slip fit which should minimize the hang down. Let me know if you want more information. Where are you located in CT?
Vettenuts,
Thanks!! We did get some snow, but it was gone in a few hours.
On ground clearance, from your photo's it looked like the collectors and cats were within the tunnel, so there might not be a clearance issue. Did you use aftermarket cats or stay with stock? Also, with the QTP's, are there more welds than others, going from 4 to 2 to one?
I live in Rowayton, Ct, which is near Stamford. I would kind of like to try this myself, maybe with some help from my brother-in-law, who built a Camero a few years ago. Knowing about your tuner is great. If I do this myself, will the car run well enough, presuming I don't screw anythin up, pre-tune, to get up to Seekonk?

The system does not hang lower than the stock system at any point. The system uses Random Tech Metallic Cats. And there are more welds because of the 4-2-1 design. Any questions feel free to call me.
I was going to call you...I've got a meeting this Friday, November 19, in Philadelphia in the morning, so maybe I could drop by Friday afternoon, if you are there, on my way back to Connecticut.
Ran great after the installation. I don't see any problem driving it to the tuner after you have installed them, unless we get more snow!!! As far as clearance, I don't think they are any lower than stock. There are no large clamps or joints to protrude downward.
I got the backbone from Mark Dawson at VettesnMore. It is stainless with ceramic coating. It was the perfect time to install the plate since you have it all apart anyhow. An Mark was running an early Christmas special on it. Good luck, did you decide on headers? What year is your car?
Stopped by the QTP shop today to pick up a set of their headers with the cats and z-pipe. Barry's a great guy to deal with, and was very helpful with the tips for doing the install. Hope to start work on them this weekend!
Thanks much, I appreciate the offer and am sure that I will be in touch. Appreciate your posting and will definitely be printing it out for the install.
