Had heads/cam and LSX intake installed in September. Power is great and the idle is fine (was increased to 900). My problem is that when I am coming to a stop and depress the clutch my RPM's drop down to about 500 and the engine hesitates a little and maybe one second later the RPM's jump back to the 900 mark. The car has yet to stall on me, but I am concerned that over time this might harm the engine.
Is this something that can be cured with an LS1 Edit tune?
Definitely sounds like a tuning issue. I've been doing a lot of research on cam's, and idle is one of the areas affected when going to a bigger cam, especially in a A4.
I would have the shop plug LS1 Edit to check out the specs!!!

The idle is fine. It is just that split second time between depressing the clutch when coming to a stop that it will drop down to 500, then settle into idle at 900. It hasn't stalled on me yet, just want to make sure that the instances of it dropping aren't causing any damage, and if this is normal behavior.
a cam will definatly affect you idle and non acceraltion situations. Seems normail to me, LS1 edit will help you big time and you will pick a a bunch of power

Or.....
Is this normal behavior for a heads/cam car?
Thanks,

A tune issue would be my first thought. I also had the same problem with mine you described and I found a bad coolant temp sensor at fault.
Had it replaced and no more funky surges after coming to a stop light.
