Had column lock recall done, now programmer doesn't work?
I decided to have the column lock recall done on my Z and now my Vinci programmer doesn't work. Is this common? I made sure the stock program was back in the car before I took it in, so why would anything change? Anyone else run into this and what was the fix? Thanks!
I read something about this on Z06vette.com about people having problems with programmers after the GM fix....may wanna call manufacturer and see if they will help ya out..the re-program changes something on the PCM
The new flash by GM for the column lock changes coding in the #1 parameter file. The handhelds, LS1 edit, etc can only look at this file and see it is not the same so it says you are not permitted to use it on that PCM.
When I brought my car in for the column lock recall, I told them "DO NOT FLASH THE PCM. I HAVE A CUSTOM TUNE." They installed the new harness, and did not reflash the PCM, just as I asked.
Then they lost my key and fob.

I did the bypass last year, no problems whatsoever
