Default Some Tub Questions

For those coupes who tubbed their cars:

Did you purchase a kit (ie LPE's) or use your own parts? If your own parts, what did you use and how did you install?

Did you move the roof holder clips so they can still be used? If not, how do you store the roof other than at home?

I'm planning on purchasing CCW 505A's but want to go larger than the 19x11" with 295/305 rears commonly sold but don't like the look of tires sticking out of the wheel well. The November Car & Driver has LPE's TT 427 that has 345/30/19's and from the photo does not appear that the rears stick out although the fronts seem to.

I purchased LPE's tub kit for my CCW 18X12's. I recomend the kit because of the fender liners. Sure, you can do it yourself, but the liners are what makes it look stock! I also have a coupe and was concerned about how the roof was to fit. No problems and the roof fits like a glove. I say go for the LPE kit, unless you can find the wider liners seperatley.

You can't use the LPE kit and still use your targa top roof holder (unless the kit is modified). If you are planning on doing it yourself check this out: http://home.hot.rr.com/playtoy97c5/corvette/Tubbing.pdf

Not sure if 97C5ENVY has the same link, but I saw one recently on how to do it yourself. Seemed pretty straightforward to someone with a bit of fiberglass experience. I'll see if I can find it!

It's apparently messy, and may cost $1500 dollars with everything

Professorhp, where did you get yours done...? I have CCW 11.5's which stick out and rub slightly on big bumps, but am wondering if it is all worth it to run a 12 inch tire flush with the well, or a 13 inch with the wider fender (assuming I can remove my targa still...)

I have the LPE kit and my targa top fits fine. LG Motorsports did the install. If you decide to go with a 12inch wide rim you will have no issues as mine is flush. I did however tell LG to install it so that I could still use my targa holder. Instead of a 2 inch mini tub it's a 1 5/8 tub. Also with a 12inch wide rim, you will have to clearance the control arms. With the 11.5 you will be fine.

Link works fine for me. Do you have Adobe Acrobat installed? If not you will need it to view the file. You can down load Acrobat here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html

If you are still having trouble LMK and i can email you the file.
