Default Best Brake Pads

What do you experts out there recommend for a set of high performance brake pads for a 2003 Z06? To be used on the street only but looking for a more aggresive pad. Thanks!

I have the same question plus is it worth it to upgrade to SS lines?

What fluid should I use?

My car is an 01' Z with the GM slotted and drilled rotors.

Thanks

Mike

I'm using Hawk HP street pads, so far they stop very well and have little brake dust.

Stainless steel baided brake lines are always a good idea and will firm up the feel on your brake peddle

the more agressive the brake pad the more dust it will have. No two ways around it. performance cars need perfomance brakes = brake dust.

Ceramic pads are ok but not agressive pads for quick stopping.

I have use Hawk HPS pads and would not recomended them at all. I waisted them in one week end. The Hawk HP + ( plus) i like very much but also dust - the PFC-Z pad is a very good pad, agressive and low dust. For the track use I have used PFC-01 pads for almost a year and will new be using the Wilwood H pad.

Brake fuild, Motul is very very good, ATE super blue or Gold is very popular. The Ford HD is good as well. Wilwood is excellnet and the best is Castrol SRF and at the price it sells for it better be.

When you look for brake fluid look at the WET not DRY boiling point and pick one that has a WET boiling point as close to if not above 400 degrees.

Good luck

I agree win au n egl, however, my question is, if you're using them on the street, what do you need a more aggressive pad for? How aggressive are you on the street? Over the years, I have not been able to be aggressive enough on the street to make it worth putting the dusty race pads on. I do recommend the DOT 4 fluid because it is relatively easy to boil the brake fluid. For the track, I use the Carbotech pads which seem to be excellent but when I get home from the track and clean things up, a short trip to the mall will have the wheels looking like I haven't touched them in weeks.
