1) Position the starter motor to the block.
2) Install the starter motor bolts. Tighten
Tighten the starter motor bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
Important
Orient the purple lead wire to the 10:00 position when installing.
3) Install the starter motor S terminal washer and purple lead wire (1).
4) Install the S terminal nut (2). Tighten
Tighten the S terminal nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
Important
Orient gray and rust harness leads to the 6:00 and 7:00 position.
5) Install the gray and rust harness leads to the solenoid.
6) Install the positive battery cable terminal to the solenoid.
7) Install the positive battery cable nut. Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
2) Install the starter motor bolts. Tighten
Tighten the starter motor bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
Important
Orient the purple lead wire to the 10:00 position when installing.
3) Install the starter motor S terminal washer and purple lead wire (1).
4) Install the S terminal nut (2). Tighten
Tighten the S terminal nut to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
Important

7) Install the positive battery cable nut. Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
