A/C Compressor Change Qustion?
you need to remove all the lines, and flush them thoroughly with an a/c flush kit. you will also need to flush the evaporator. you need to have an air compressor and an air nozzle with a rubber tip to thoroughly dry the tubing and evaporator after flushing.
you will also need a new accumulator, and you will need to fill the accumulator with the correct amount of PAG oil.
also buy a gasket and o-ring kit and a new orifice tube
in order to remove the compressor, you will need to remove the water pump housing, so drain out about half of the coolant. you will need to buy new gaskets for the water pump housing for reinstallation.
fill the compressor with the correct amount of PAG oil. also make sure the compressor has a screen on the inlet to catch any large debris. if it doesn't, it isn't easy, but you can salvage the one from the original compressor.
be sure to grease up all the o-rings before installing them. dielectric grease works fine.
hook up the vacuum pump for a couple hours to evacuate the system after its all back together. when you turn off the vacuum pump, the gauges should not move. if they do, you have a leak, and you need to check all your connections again.
