I recently received a new 'Corvette Central' catalog in the mail. On page 58, there is a "sidebar" that talks about getting your PCM reflashed, as maintenence item, of sorts.
"When the PCM/ECM is reflashed, the original software is reinstalled, along with all of the factory updates. There can be up to 14 or 15 updated files for an individual car. These updates include...."
Is this really true? Is it worth having done? I assume, of course, that this has to be done by the dealer.
If you have a tune on your car this is absolutely the LAST thing you want to do!!!!
The 'sidebar" in CCs catalog does mention that you'd have to remove the tune, then re-install it. I'd be a little hesitant to do this on my car, simply because it's running OK, and I've never had any issues with the steering column lock.....
However, if a 're-flash' would allow it to run better, I'd think about it.
