I just found out by accident that my driver's door doesn't always (9 out of 10 times) lock when I press the lock button on the key fob for my 2000 Vert. The passenger door always locks, but the driver's door doesn't. All this time I had a false sense of security that when I pressed the lock button that it locked it when I walked away from the car.
I have also started having problems with the doors not unlocking automatically when I pull the key from the ignition. (I have to manually unlock the drivers door many times.)
Has anyone else had these problems?
Based upon the above, I would recommend everyone do a security check on their cars every once in a while by trying to open the doors without hitting the unlock button. In my case, the door was unlocked. The alarm (horn) worked the way it was supposed to, but the door was unlocked. That failure, combined with the DRL bypass, leaves the car pretty wide open for anyone to take.
Check yours out to be safe.

exact same situation here except my driver door now only locks with the lever, no operation from remote or door button. Remote unlocks just fine back to the dealer I guess...
