How do you check trouble codes?
I've been getting this check engine light on my dash, but it doesn't tell me what's wrong or even put the check engine light on my HUD. It's constantly on. How do I check to see what codes are thrown to see what might be the problem?

Turn key to on position (do not start), while pressing on the "options" button on the DIC, press the "fuel" button 4 times quickly. You will be able to see any codes listed, "H" codes are History codes that have been there for a while, while "C" codes are current. Wait until "Manual Diagnostics" is displayed and use the "Options" button to scroll down the list (have paper a pen ready) When "manual diag" first starts after reading any code, press "Reset" button to clear any codes, after clearing all codes, press the "Metric" to exit, turn key off, then back on...check engine light should be off.

You can find trouble codes specific to each of the years at the following web site. There have been a few changes through the C5 years.
