Default Texas Speed & AFR problems

I was promised by Jason from Texas Speed AFR 205 heads for Nov. 20th 2004. I am an activated Army Reservist in training at Ft. Irwin,Ca. I toured the AFR factory with Dave and Tony. They gave the info I needed to purchase their heads and then placed an order with Trevor & Jason at Texas Speed. They advised the heads were in stock and I would receive them on the 20th of Nov. 2004. Well that date has come and gone with no heads and they have $2,500.00 of my money. I'm leaving for Iraq Sunday and I believe I will never see my money. I advised them for several months that I needed the heads/cam for that one week that I would be home. They clearly understood my dilema. I believe they sold my heads I purchased in Oct. to someone else that will be here in the USA for the next year. You can tell by my letter that I'm extrememly angry that a soldier like myself was cheated. I've been trying to call AFR and advise them. Can anyone out there help me while I'm perfoming military duties. My military E-mail address is robert.kamp@us.army.mil. I'll let this slide for a couple of weeks then will report the fraud incident to JAG. Being a deployed US service member falls under federal jusisdiction. I cannot see how any company could cheat me take my money and not provide the product.

Let me start off by saying I appreciate what you are doing for the country . I have dealt with texas speed on a couple of occasions and have had nothing but pleasant expiriences with those guys. I woudnt worry about your money, I dont think they are out to swindle anyone. The situation definitly sucks, but Im pretty confident they will make it right. Lets see what they have to say. Good Luck with everything.

Im really shocked hearing this. My personal experience with Jason and TSP was great and eta of delivery was right on target. I even got a tracking number from UPS.

Hang in there, im sure theres a reasonable explanation for the delay.

Robert,

At what point were you ever misled in the conversation this morning with Jason that you were not getting your money back? Do you honestly think that we are going to keep your money and not ship you your cylinder heads? Dave at AFR was contacted NUMEROUS times about the cylinder heads, and it was emphasized that they needed to be to you by the requested date. They never told us that it was not possible, and we could not go off of anything else but their word. Dave confirmed on November 15th that the cylinder heads were ready to ship to you, and we were having them 2nd-Day aired to you just to be safe that they would make it there on time. Being in the military, we did help you out quite a bit on the pricing of your complete package. Unfortunately, AFR is closed today, and we cannot get any information from them. Had we ever been told that we could not have had the cylinder heads to you in time, then we would have located a set by any means necessary to get them there, even if it would have cost us money. I really wish you would have contacted us this past Monday to let us know that the heads were missing. Then we could have located the problem and had a set overnighted to you. Jason specifically told you this morning that you would be getting a 100% refund on your purchase. We tried our best to help in any way possible, and it's ridiculous to think that we are here to cheat you out of your money. That's not what we're in business for, and it NEVER will be.

It goes without saying that we appreciate everything you are doing for us and our country. It is because of people like you that help to defend our great country and keep us safe. However, there is absolutely no reason for the slanderous comments of being cheated out of your money. We NEVER gave you any reason to doubt that you would get your money back, and you WILL receive a 100% refund, even for the damaged camshaft (thanks to UPS).

He doesn't even wait for you or AFR to explain the shipping delay before he tries to blast you on the forum. I would refund his money and blacklist him. Guys like that aren't worth the hassle.

Trevor & Jason,
Texas Speed received Approx. $2,500.00 on the 11th of Oct. 2004, better known as Columbus day. When you received those funds from me those heads I purchased became my property. Consequently you took my heads and sent them for whatever reason to someone else. Now you have two customers monies for thghe same heads. Now you have a problem with obtaining heads for me. Which you failed to do. Thats like selling a car to two customers and taking their money. I believe not ethical. I had the opportunity while in LA to purchase the exact sasme heads from LAPD. Which you were advised. I gave you the sale because of your heplful nature and kind words on the internet. I will never purchase a product from your company and will continue to tell this story to all I know. I did nothing wrong! I was expecting to drive a 450HP corvette prior to my deployment. Let down Big Time! I'll give you one chance for satisfaction. I'll be home all day tomorrow...fly to Florida and install the heads and cam. I will praise you forever if not I will continue to feel the way I do. If I should return from Iraq in a rubber bag I'll have my wife e-mail your company.

Robert - You're exactly right that the heads were supposed to be held for you. Your heads were not purposely shipped to somebody else, whether you believe it or not. The heads were set aside for you, and I believe they were grabbed by one of our shipping/receiving employees by mistake. I've never stated that we're 100% perfect. Nobody is, but we did EVERYTHING possible to remedy the situation for you with your deadline in mind. We relied on AFR's word, just like you relied on ours. We've both been let down. Do you really think that I enjoy not having a customer's product to him in time? Again, had you contacted us this past Monday, we could have gotten the issue taken care of. Is there a reason why you waited until the day after Thanksgiving when the majority of suppliers/manufacturers are closed to contact us? We do everything within our powers to help any customer of ours. Flying to Florida does not do any good if there are not any cylinder heads there to install.

Again, we praise you as an American soldier, but that is not the issue.

It is always the recommendation of the Forum that disputes be rectified between the parties involved off the Forum. When all efforts are exhausted, a member can bring his matter to the attention of the Forum/other members.

Once both sides are able to share their side of the story, the thread ends.

Now that both parties have replied and are communicating, this thread will be locked and it is recommended that the issue be handled by email, IM or phone.

I hope all parties are satisfied in the end...
