Default Hot water temp..or not?

Today I installed the clb and cags defeat in my 2004 Z06. Went out tonight and noticed on the drive home the water temp pegged at 260 degrees. Do not know if it slowly went up to that temp or quickly, noticed it after the fact. DIC showed nothing to warn of high water temp. Ran through the gages and water temp was marked with 3 xxx's. Played with the igniton switch a bit and the gage then showed 205 degrees with the DIC agreeing. Opened the hood and it did not seem to me to be running any hotter than normal.

Has anyone installed the clb and/or cags defeat and had this happen? I feel it has to be related since it gave no trouble before.

I will play with it tomorrow and if it still does it, will try removing them one at a time to see if it cures it.

I highly doubt it's related. If the DIC was showing XXX for temp, the sender may be going out. Or it may just have been a fluke.

Hey Rattler 71, I have an 04Z and with the CLB and Cags and it's never shown that hot, using the gage it runs 220 all of the time hotter sometimes in traffic, what I did find out this weekend while stuck on the freeway was that the gage and the DIC were showing two different temp readings, the gage was showing 220 and the DIC was showing 207 if this is any help, I really can't tell you which one is correct.

I believe this to be an indication problem, Everytime I put the CLB in the water temp gauge pegs out.

where did you get the clb? I got mine from thunder racing and did not have that problem. I would exchange it for another one.
