BlackWing filter cleaning
Hey guys, I have a BlackWing filter on my 01 z06 and I beleive it needs to be cleaned...
I still have a cleaning kit for a k&n filter from my past car and I was wondering if this would work fine on the BlackWing? I think with the k&n cleaning kit there oil you spray on the filter is kind of Red and that might not work out well being the black wing isn't supposed to be red.
Maybe I have answered my own question here and if so where can I purchase a BlackWing cleaning kit from?

I have read somewhere that the K&N kit is not compatable with the blackwing filter. Something to do with K&N filters being cotton and the blackwing is a syntetic fiber and the K&N oil will damage it. I have a blackwing and only use the blackwing kit.

[Aggie Doc]I clean mine with Simple Green ( get at Target) and oil it with mineral oil. Works just fine.
