Header Gaskets ?
I'm getting ready to install my new SuperMaxx headers this weekend, and had one last question:
Are the gaskets that came with these headers okay to use, or do you need to purchase OEM ones? Any recommendations?

While the gaskets supplied by Dynatech are not GM gaskets, they are metal sandwich gaskets. I used them in place of my stock gaskets. So far, no leaks, no problems. Make sure to put them on with the rivets as shown in the instructions so you will not have a problem with the spark plugs. I thought that all the clamps, gaskets, bolts, etc. supplied with the kit were first class. Good luck with your install!

I went with the GM Camaro gaskets, they are shaped nice and round and are perfect for a header installation. They were recommended by Barry at QTP. You may want to consider them if you don't use the ones that came with the headers.

Sounds like another reason to just stick with the SuperMaxx gaskets, but thanks for the info. Gotta love this forum...(though a decent search function would be nice, 'cough' 'cough')
