Default Are headers for me?

Hey everyone. Hope everything's going ok. I have a question and I am sure this has probably been asked before. But how much RWHP do you believe I could pick up by going to LT headers, but keeping the stock cats and mufflers? Furthermore, let's suppose I get a tune when I get the headers as well. Basically I want more horsepower without a lot of sound. Headers and a cat-back would be too loud for my preference. I am having gears and a torque converter put into my car and will be having it tuned, so I thought it might be a good idea to go ahead and get some headers since I am getting the tune. I just want to know if it would be worth it to get headers and a tune for my car if I don't get rid of the factory cats and muffler. Thanks for the help everyone.

Josh

Good idea to "do it all." I have 3.42's with hardened shaft and Corsa Indys and just received my Kook's 1 3/4" headers with x-pipe, high flow cat assembly. I am having a Yank SS3600 tqc put in at the same time -as soon as DTech get there A4 trans brace on the market!! Give Nick a call at Kook's and he will answer your questions. Great people to deal with.

Your looking at probably 20rwhp gain with just headers.

I gained just about 25 HP with my QTP headers. I also have the Z06 exhaust and it is not loud at all. If you want the headers to perform, you really need to consider getting rid of the stock Cat pipe. My QTP system mates to the Random Technology mid-section. The difference in sound between before headers and now, unless you romp on it hard, is not noticable.
