Default Clutch hoopla

OK guys im tired of debating the clutch issue for myself. I need some other opinions. Im look at 450 to 500 hp in the near future, i only put around 6,000 miles on the car a year. Mostly city and highway driving. And maybe only 4 or 5 trips to the strip a year. O and I play a little on (cough cough) street. Who has the best bang for the buck and as far a performance and also steel or aluminum fly?

I'm going to be upgrading my clutch very soon to either a Cartek clutch or the Luk stage II gold series. Anyway, thats what I've narrowed it down to and I'm currently running around 450 rwhp. The stock Z06 clutch has served me well but Going into the new year and season I would like to freshen it up a bit.

Exedy single the only to go. I have a twin on my432 cube and love it. Well worth the extra cash.

The Exedy twin is only a few hundred bucks more than the single - well worth it IMHO. I would look at the Exedy or the RAM. Personally, I've been happy with the Exedy twin.

Only had it for a bit over a month, but it is quite a clutch.

The Exedy dual and Luk Pro Gold are probably the only two aftermarket clutches worth wasting your time with. And the LUK is the manufacturer of the C5 and Z06 OEM units so the Pro Gold may not even qualify for aftermarket.

The Z06 unit is rated at 520 foot pounds of torque so since you're not a drag fanatic I'd stick with that. I think an AL flywheel will make it more fun to drive but others have complained about it's lack of mass causing drivability issues.

At Pace Performance, the Exedy Twin is exactly the same price as the single....around $1,200.00
