Does this look right to you
This is what is left of my trans output shaft. You can see that the rearend case is still partially attached....

Wow, when did you do that ? I have seen that happend many times. The rear housing cracks and then twists and takes out the trans output shaft.

It happened right after i broke in the rear, about two weeks after I left your shop. It happened on the second pass because I spun on the first one. I just have not had time to take it apart until yesterday....

I've heard of this happening on high HP cars, but thats the first pic I've seen of it, whoa!
I think this is exactly the kind of damage the strut brace is designed to minimalize. I don't know if it would have helped the output shaft, but where the damage continued from the diff casing to the tranny casing specifically. Others with more experience I'm sure wil chime in.

Hey, I'm really sorry to see the damages, and as you can see i can really say i know what you're going through! I went ahead and got the DTE brace so i won't do this again.
