Default Valentine Hardwire for Convertible

Per the title, I am trying to hardwire my V1 in my 98 vert. Is there a trick to removing the interior panel above the windshield so i can run the telephone cord through it. So far i only see the two bolts holding the visor connector.... Is this all I need to remove??

Thanks!

I saw that you haven't had any responses so I thought I would jump in and try to help. I have an 04 Z06 not a vert so I can't say for sure, but other than the screws, many of these panels take some small effort to pull off. The A pillar cover, for instance, pulls right off with some effort. I would think that once the screws are removed things would be the same with the windshield area.

Don't know if this helps or not, but you should be able to determine quickly. One word of warning. If the cover does not respond to some light pulling, be very careful so as not to break any clips. The instructions I've seen for the A pillar cover reccomends starting from the top and giving equal pressure to both sides of the cover as you pull it straight off. Should be the same in your case.

Hope this helps you out!

Jon,

On my '02 there is a wire that you can use to energize your Valentine One under the passenger-side carpeted toe panel. I mounted my Valentine One just to the right of the inside rear-view mirror, tight against the headliner. I ran the power wire to the right under the headliner, down the passenger A-pillar, and then over to the wire I am referring to.

I am attaching a picture of where I installed my Valentine One remote. With this setup, my main unit is hidden by the tinted band at the top of the windshield, and because I am using a remote unit, the main unit stays dark at all times.

Good luck with your installation.

I hardwired mine in my 04 Verrt and you don't need to remove the pillar at all. just pry it away gently and you can get the cord in there with no problem. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone! I finally figured it out this afternoon. I ended up removing everything, had to take off the sunvisors (probably the hardest part) but other than that it was pretty simple.
