I don't know about your programming getting erased - I don't think it will but.... All they did for mine was downloaded the software to remove the SCL feature and then installed a relay and jumper wire on one of the relay panels. Good to go.
I have ls1edit also and won't let my dealer touch it. Although my column has locked a couple of times, I get it unlocked by cranking the steering wheel hard to the right while I put the key in the ignition and start it up. On another forum this was discussed. The pros gave their input and said do not let the dealer touch it or you'll lose the ls1edit program you've installed.
If the dealer flashes your PCM for the recall, your custom tune will be gone.
Beyond that, the recall flash also changes the ID# of the PCM, so you will not be able to simply re-uipload your current LS1-Edit file afterwards.
The recall fix does NOTHING to prevent the column lock from sticking on 6spd cars, so don't bother with it.
Not only will you lose your custom program, but the column can still lock. The PCM urdate simply keeps the car from being driven in the event of a coulmn lock failure. More of a liability reduction stopgap than anything else.
Get a column lock bypass from a forum vendor and be done with it.

If you didn't have the edit I would have suggested getting the recall done then installing the CLB (a must have for a 6MNs), but since you have the edit I would skip the recall and just put in the CLB.
You might have to tell GM and sign something to waive the recall notice because I have heard of guys going in for one thing and GM will do the recall without you saying it is ok.
