Help in diagnosing driveline problem...maybe clutch.
Okay, car's history: All new intake up to the heads (bolt on), Exhaust (LGLTs through, hi-flo cats, throw Stingers.)
Okay the problem. Slow first gear start from stop, between 500-1500 rpm. The car feels like the driveline is slipping before engaging. It also feels like it could be some water in the tank. Fuel lines running dry for a split second. or maybe even some sort of trans/dif problem.
There is no grinding what-so-ever. The tires aren't braking. So far my data logging on HPTuner shows no injector, fuel, or air problems. I'll retest tonight.
It happens every time, not just occasionally. Three weeks ago under heavy throttle 1-2 shift, I missed second and tacked up to 5K before hitting it on the double-clutch. When I dropped the clutch the engine kept tacking at 5k and didn't grab until I lifted the throttle...maybe a second total time. I felt that the clutch was slipping (not the tires) because there were no black steaks on the ground behind me and the traction control didn't go off.
DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE throwout bearing or pressure plate. The car has 60k miles and has run about 50 auto crosses and track days...no drag racing.
Thanks
Put it in 6th @ ~ 40 MPH and stand on it. This puts the most load on the clutch. If the RPM's come up without an increase in speed your clutch is slipping.

good idea. I did this and the car sputters and jerks...I'm wondering if I have water in the line now or a bad fuel filter. The clutch definately did not slip.
Let me try some fuel stabilizer...this is funny. I noticed this before this fuel tank. I filled up yesterday from a widely used shell station. Never had a problem before. RPM range has increase from 500-1500 to about 500-2300.

Okay, fuel stabilizer isn't working...I definately think it is a fuel delivery problem. It occurs under load at low RPM 500-2300. My data logger isn't showing anything...or I don't know how to recognize it. It still maybe the clutch, but it feels like a fuel issue. definate lugging and lurching under load. I think I'll change the fuel filter this weekend and drain some gas to see if a lot of water is present. Injector cleaner and fuel stabilizer did nothing.
Check your MAF too. I had the same problem once and it was driving me crazy. A piece of gasket had broken loose and was pressed up against my MAF screen - obviously giving it some funky readings and causing the car to buck under load.
