About A Moth Ago I Purchased A Red 99' C5, With 35k Miles On It. Over The Last Couple Of Weekes My A/c Has Stoped Working. I Think This Is Due To The Exterior Temprature Reading To Low. Is There A Way To Reset This? Also I've Purchased An Aftermarket Shift Knod For The Stock Shifter. How Do I Get The Stock **** Off. Is There A Set Screw Or Something I Need To Remove First? Lastley Are There Any Genaral Maintenace Items To Take Care Of, Besides Oil And The Air Filter?

On a 6 year old car I would change the following fluids.

Engine oil
Tranny
Coolant
Brake
Power Steering
Rear Diff.

in other words, all fluids.

If your exterior temperature reading is wrong, most likely your outside ambient air temp sensor is bad. Its about an $8 part and is really easy to change. The sensor is located at the very bottom left-hand side of the rediator shroud. Easiest way to see it is to look up under the left front of the radiator and you will see a little plastic tip sticking through the shroud. Its just an "unplug the old, plug in the new" repair. It is a little tight to get your hands on the sensor. Also, the connector that the sensor plugs into may be corroded beyond help. It sort of a pain to replace the connector as you need a new one and splice it into the wires.
I would try the $8 sensor first.
