At what speed does your A4 lockup in OD at part trottle.
It depends on your converter, gears, throttle position and your personal preference.
If your asking about a stock setting it depends on throttle position. The harder you press the pedal the later it locks. Roughly it locks in 4th at 42mph at 6% throttle pressure, to 50mph at 75% throttle pressure.
A friend who has tqc 3600 has it lock up only in OD. The reason is that the "unlocking" in the lower gears was driving him nuts - apparently very unpleasant, so it locks up only in OD. Any thouhgts on this rather untechnical explanation.?

I have heard of the T/C locking up in 3rd & OD gear but not in the lower gears?????

I've done the same thing. It's a PITA having it lock and unlock in 3rd with gears and a converter.
Mitch, lockup can be programmed for lower gears, but stock it is not. I don't think it would be desireable.

That's me.The stock TC only locks up in 3rd and O.D.. But as you have pointed out with gears and a high stall TC it is a real pain in heavy traffic.I am sure that with a little time and effort you could make it work in 3rd.But I see no reason to do this since my car drives so well with locup in OD only.I love the way it drives now, wouldn't change it for the world.
